Hijacker Training Camp Part 3

We had now entered the territory of “Box Hill and Westhumble” and were feeling shattered. Time for food and beer in a local pub.

After refreshments we headed to the foot of Box Hill and began the ascent to the summit. Several sprightly Hijackers ran ahead, charging up the hillside. The better trained undercover agents, took a slower pace, through the under growth so as not to blow our cover.

Once at the top we had an amazing view for miles and miles. Our London lungs were full of fresh air, but our legs were getting weary. We walked through to a carpark where you could buy refreshments and collapsed in the sunshine.

Now for the descent. Walking futher East we came to a viewing point overlooking miles of farmland, and Dorking to the West. Before us was a giant grass hill leading down to a river. We had heard that there were some stepping stones to cross the river by at the bottom of the hill, so we started to amble down.

Greenman and Zargof had made it to the bottom first, however no sooner had they reached the bushes at the base of the hill, than they started racing back up again. This time however they had an old red car bonnet in tow. Brave of foolish we weren’t exactly sure, however Greenman, Zargof, Steve and Aneeta all took turns in sledging down the hill on the bonnet of doom.

After a slight mess up with our orienteering skills, we got back on track, and after checking out some shelters in the woods, we finally arrived at the stepping stones we had been searching for. After crossing the river, we began the long trek back to base camp.

By the time we got home it was dusk, and we were shattered, the last thing we wanted to do was carry logs, however if we wanted to eat that’s exactly what we needed to do. Gideon Stargrave came up trumps with a local taxi driver who had agreed to meet us at the end of the woods with beer, so after another trek, we were all safe back at camp, with broken bodies, but full stomachs and boozy heads.

Thick into the night, after several agents had hit their sleeping bags, another team set out with Gideon Stargrave’s arsenal (fireworks). Heading to an empty field they decided to check out the range of their rockets. However barely after setting off a pair, an enemy plane could be heard thundering towards them. Immediately the team shut off all torches, and scrambled for cover, as the plane swooped above them. Time for bed.
